Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go, who was in Victorias City yesterday for Anti-Drugs Summit 2018, organized by the Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte-National Executive Coordinating Committee, said he is willing to provide assistance in the establishment of the Negrosanon Federated Region (NFR), which is included in the federalism proposal.
Go said he will “support whatever is best for Negros.”
The proposed federal state will unite the provinces of Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental and include Siquijor.
Last week, the 22-member Consultative Committee, chaired by former Supreme Court Chief Justice Reynato Puno, unanimously approved the proposed federal form of government draft constitution.
Go said Puno will submit the draft to Malacañang Palace today.
Among those present at the summit included Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Negros Occidental third district Rep. Alfredo Benitez, Bacolod City lone district Rep. Greg Gasataya, Abang Lingkod partylist Rep. Stephen Paduano, Department of Interior and Local Government Undersecretary Martin Diño, Development Bank of the Philippines Director Jesus Hinlo, among others./DGB, WDJ
