Bacolod City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Agency (BCPO-CDEU) operatives seized P3 million worth of suspected shabu late Wednesday night at Purok Bangrus in Barangay 1, Bacolod City, and resulting in the arrest of two newly-identified high-value drug targets.
Police identified the arrested suspects as 34-year-old Reyden Palomero and 21-year-old Rica Mitch Villalon, both residents of the said area.
In a press conference yesterday, BCPO director, Police Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, said the suspects are currently being investigated on possible connections to slain drug lord Ramy Poja, who may have supplied them with the illicit substances, particularly since Villalon previously resided in Barangay Banago.
Ebreo said the suspects moved to Barangay 1 two days prior to the raid.
The suspects are also reported to have been using banks for transactions as police also recovered bank deposit slips during their search.
Law enforcement recovered a total of six elongated and 10 big sachets of suspected shabu, weighing 260 grams; along with marked money amounting to P5,000.
The recent haul is currently one of the largest made by BCPO this year.
Both suspects are detained at Police Station 2 and currently face illegal drugs charges./DGB, WDJ
