Local track and field athletes preparing

Four Negrenses and one Ilongga will be representing the Philippines in the upcoming ASEAN School Games, scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from July 19 to 23.

2018 Palarong Pambansa medalists from Negros Occidental, Franz Gela Bintad and Ann Katherine Quitoy, are both on the roster, with the former competing in the discus throw and the latter in the javelin throw. Meanwhile, Trexie dela Torre will be competing in the triple jump and Bernalyn Bejoy will take part in the high jump.

In addition, Alexie Mae Caimoso Brooks of Iloilo will participate in the marathon.
