The suspected personal physician for slain drug lord Ramy Poja, along with his driver, were brought to the Bacolod City Hall of Justice yesterday morning for inquest proceedings.

Dr. Solomon Tan and his driver, Romanito Lee, were formally charged in violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, with no bail recommended.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region 6 (PDEA-6) director Wardley Getalia confirmed Tan was a member of the Poja drug group and positively identified by city police as the one who provided medical treatment for Poja prior to police officers and PDEA-6 agents storming his residence last May.

Getalia said Tan is one of the many high-value drug targets being monitored in Negros Occidental, including several barangay officials.

Both Tan and Lee were earlier arrested by PDEA-6 agents during a buy-bust operation late Sunday afternoon along Circumferential Road in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City.

Agents recovered a total of 11 sachets of suspected shabu, weighing around 60 grams, and valued at P408,000./DGB, WDJ
