Ceres-Negros FC striker Takumi Uesato scored two second half goals, lifting the Negrense club past Stallion Laguna FC over the weekend, 2-0, at the Panaad Park and Stadium.

Uesato scored in the 66th and 70th minutes.

“Like Japan entering the World Cup round of 16, I’m lucky too,” said the Japanese forward, who was named Man of the Match.

Ceres coach Risto Vidaković said the club will be taking a rest before their next match, which is on Saturday, July 7, against Kaya FC-Iloilo.

“The boys need to recover,” he said.

Following the win, Ceres continues to sit atop the Philippines Football League table with 41 points, 12 points ahead of second place Kaya FC, who has two games in hand./JSG, WDJ
