During a recent visit to Bacolod City, Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) director, Police Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, confirmed the brother of a mayor in the Western Visayas is allegedly involved in illegal drugs.

During a meeting with Bacolod City-based media, Bulalacao said he received the information when he set up a hotline for the public that could contact him and report individuals, especially cops, involved in illegal activities.

Bulalacao would not divulge any further information but noted, the allegations are now being validated by PRO-6 counterintelligence units.

The regional director also refused to name the province where the involved official operates.

“We have to verify first,” Bulalacao said. “These [may] be accusations made by the mayor’s political enemies.”

He added, if the report is confirmed, they will immediately conduct an operation against the suspect./DGB, WDJ
