Both John Michael Zulueta, originally from Calatrava, and Cebu City’s Cris Ganoza made weight during yesterday’s weigh-in, setting the stage for their Asian Boxing Federation (ABF) minimumweight title bout tonight, June 30, at the Gaisano City Mall in Bacolod City.

The Negrense boxer called the fight a “huge break” for his career, saying he will be able to showcase his skills.

He previously fought Ebonito Loperez of Davao City at the same venue back in February in an undercard fight during the Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation light flyweight title bout between Edward Heno and Merlito ‘Tiger’ Sabillo.

Zulueta won that fight via technical knockout.

Meanwhile, featuring in the eight-round undercard bouts are Joeper Montaño of Bago City taking on Danilo Peña of Parañaque City. Montaño was originally supposed to face Sojie Nikart of Manila. In the other undercard fight, Ernesto Alera of Murcia is meeting Marlou ‘Ironman’ Sandoval of Bayawan City.

In addition, 15 amateur bouts will also take place./JSG, WDJ
