The Negros Occidental Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is being considered for the provincial level BFP Organizational Unit Awards, which will be given out on August 14 as part of the BFP’s 27th anniversary observance.

During evaluations, BFP Provincial Fire Marshal Pamela Rojane Candido revealed, between January and May of this year, a total of 47,676 establishments underwent inspections and were issued fire safety inspection certifications. In contract, a total of 56,433 establishments were inspected in 2017.

She noted, in terms of establishments recommended for closure, “We have zero for 2017.”

Candido also pointed out, as of May 2018, neither Manapla nor EB Magalona reported any fire incidents./WDJ
