Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) director, Police Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, visited the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) yesterday and expressed his determination to clean the ranks of the region’s police force.

During his first meeting with members of the local media, the law enforcement official said he would implement the same programs introduced by Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Oscar Albayalde.

Bulalacao said he supports Albayalde’s program to rid the PNP of rogue and “scalawag” police officers, as well as discipline the entire regional police force.

Bulalacao also expressed satisfaction with the BCPO’s success in its anti-illegal drugs drive, especially with the neutralization of an AWOL cop who had been involved with illegal drugs.

However, Bulalacao also said the primary reason he paid the visit was to check on the condition of its present force after observing a slight increase in the number of incidents involving the PNP’s eight focus crimes last week, among which are robbery and murder.

“We won’t be choosy, as long as you are you involved in illegal and criminal activities, whether you are a police, local official, or civilian, you will be arrested,” Bulalacao affirmed.

As part of its internal cleansing, Bulalacao said he would also conduct random inspections of Bacolod City police stations.

He also told police commanders to monitor their respective personnel, adding he would immediately fire and charge commanders who fail to detect the illegal activities of their personnel./DGB, WDJ
