The Iloilo City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) recently distributed educational assistance to 87 street kids, who each received P1,700.
The amount is intended to cover the first quarter of the year.
“The city government is just here to support you,” said Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III. “You must realize how valuable education is.”
“Study harder, be responsible students, practice everything you have learned in school, and, someday, prove to the world that poverty is never a hindrance to success,” he advised.
Espinosa, alongside CSWD officer Gene Garingalo and focal person for youth Merlyn Gison, led the distribution./WDJ
