The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) Committee on Environment will be conducting an evaluation next month to find the cleanest and greenest barangays in the city.

The competition will be split between urban, or numbered, barangays; and rural, or named, barangays.

“If our city is clean, we will be healthier,” said Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia.

According to Bacolod City Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, who heads the Solid Waste Action Team, Barangay Taculing was chosen as the “model,” saying it is made up of many subdivisions and has easily implemented the “No Segregation, No Collection” policy./DGB, WDJ
