Talisay City resident arrested for brandishing pistol

A 49-year-old man was arrested by patrolling barangay tanods after he was seen brandishing a firearm yesterday morning at San Juan Yusay in Barangay Dos Hermanas, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the suspect as Reynaldo Valenciano, a resident of Barangay E. Lizares in the said city.

Talisay City police said two barangay tanods were conducting a patrol when they spotted Valenciano carrying a .38 caliber pistol.

The tanods immediately arrested Valenciano and coordinated with police.

Once police arrived, they recovered the suspect’s .38 caliber pistol, along with three units of .38 caliber ammunition.

Valenciano faces illegal possession of firearms and ammunition charges and is presently detained at the Talisay City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
