Two riding-in-tandem suspects opened fire at a wake Wednesday night at Purok Cagaycay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City, killing one person and wounding another.
Police identified the fatality as 30-year-old Radito Bolneo, a resident of Purok Everlasting in Barangay 29 of the said city; while the wounded was identified as 64-year-old Rosemarie Seva, a resident of Purok Lubi in Barangay 3 of the same city.
Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) spokesperson, Police Chief Inspector Sherlock Gabana, said, based on information gathered by Police Station 2 (PS2) investigators, Bolneo was playing cards during the wake for a certain Ramil Saldoa when a motorcycle arrived.
One of the suspects dismounted; approached the victims; and opened fire with a .45 caliber pistol, hitting Bolneo in the chest and Seva in the left hip.
The gunman then returned to their waiting motorcycle and immediately fled in the direction of the Bredco Port.
The victims were rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment, but Bolneo was declared dead on arrival by hospital staff.
Gabana added, investigators recovered one empty cartridge of .45 caliber ammunition and one .45 caliber slug from the crime scene.
