Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. administered the oath of office to over 300 newly-elected barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials from across the province during a ceremony at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Activity Center (NOMPAC) in Bacolod City yesterday.
In his address, he advised the elected officials to “lead by example” and “use their resources wisely.”
Also in attendance were various members of the Negros Occidental Provincial Board, along with 2016 vice gubernatorial candidate and former Negros Occidental fifth district Rep. Jeffrey Ferrer, who is said to be a potential candidate to replace Marañon as governor in 2019.
Last weekend, a total of 61 newly-elected Bacolod City barangay captains were sworn in at a mass oath-taking at the SMX Convention Center at SM City Bacolod.
