The Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Ceneco) Annual General Membership Assembly, originally scheduled for April 28 then moved to June 30, has now been rescheduled to July 1.
According to Ceneco Member-Consumers Integrated Services Division chief Roel Venus, July 1 was the final date approved for the assembly by the National Electrification Administration (NEA).
NEA Administrator Edgardo Masongsong was invited as guest speaker, but NEA head executive assistant, Atty. Vicar Loureen Lofranco, will appear on his behalf.
Lofranco will appear at the assembly at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School gym, where Ceneco Districts 1 through 5 will gather. Meanwhile, districts in Murcia, Don Salvador Benedicto, Bago City, Talisay City, and Silay City will gather at their respective gymnasiums.
During the assembly, Venus said they will discuss the conversion issue, where consumer-members decide if their co-op should operate as a non-stock, non-profit cooperative under the NEA; a stock cooperative under the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA); or a stock corporation under the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Ceneco has around 183,000 consumer-members./DGB, WDJ
