Following the Iloilo City Trade Mission and Investment Forum, which took place in the United States earlier this month, Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III expressed optimism for the city’s future.
“The business forum was attended by businessmen and fellow Filipinos who want to re-invest in the city,” said the mayor, who was part of the delegation visiting New York City, Washington DC, and Fairfax. “I am hopeful they will soon give back home.”
“I told them Iloilo is one of the peaceful cities in the country,” he added. “We are a walkable city [and] our plazas are well-lit at night.”
Espinosa also made note of local utilities, calling the power supply “enough” and that water supply matters are being addressed.
The mayor joined a large contingent representing the city, which included taking part in the Philippine Independence Day celebration in New York City./WDJ
