President Rodrigo Duterte was in Cabatuan, Iloilo yesterday as part of the Department of Agrarian Reform-Region VI (DAR-6) 30th anniversary observance of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) at the Cabatuan Covered Gym.
During the event, a total 3,772 Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs) were issued to 2,314 beneficiaries from across the region.
The CLOAs reportedly apply to around 2,694 hectares of land.
The president also participated in the turnover of farm-to-market road projects for five Iloilo municipalities, namely San Rafael, Bingawan, Barotac Viejo, Dumangas, and Lambunao.
Recently, the DAR-Negros Occidental-1 division revealed their distribution goal this year is 6,000 hectares, covering areas throughout the northern portion of Negros Occidental.
According to DAR-Negros Occidental-1 Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Teresita Mabunay, as of May 31, the agency has distributed 895 hectares.
She added, there is still 54,000 hectares of land yet to be distributed, intended for CARP beneficiaries./WDJ
