Property developer Cebu Landmasters, Inc. (CLI) signed a deal yesterday with Ascott Limited, a subsidiary of Singapore-based real estate company CapitaLand Limited, to develop a hotel in Bacolod City.
The proposed 200-room Citadines Bacolod will be the first in the city to carry an Ascott Limited brand.
During the signing ceremonies, Chief Architect Jose Pedro Recio expressed excitement for his newest project, which will feature retail and residential components in addition to the hotel.
“This [will] almost be a self-serving community,” Recio said.
The new hotel is expected to stand at 14 levels, with amenities including a 500-seater ballroom, which could host to weddings and conventions.
Ascott Limited Regional General Manager for Philippines and Thailand, Arthur Gindap, meanwhile, said he is very happy to partner with CLI, pointing out their track record and deep knowledge of the Visayas-Mindanao market.
“We have come a long way since we opened our first property 18 years ago in Makati City with our Somerset Makati property,” Gindap said.
Based on documents provided by CLI, Citadines Bacolod will have unit sizes ranging from 25 to 60 square meters and provides additional amenities such as parking, swimming pool, gym, game room, and restaurants.
The new property will be located beside the CLI’s MesaVirre Garden Residences, located along Lacson Street in Barangay Bata.
Groundbreaking for the new hotel property is expected to take place towards the latter end of this year, with a targeted completion by 2021./DGB, WDJ
