The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) yesterday confirmed the recent killing of Salvador Poja, Jr., the cousin of slain drug lord Ramy Poja, was not drug-related.

BCPO spokesperson, Police Chief Inspector Sherlock Gabana, said the investigation into the incident is currently 60 percent complete, noting they are closing in on a motive behind the shooting.

Gabana said they are presently considering the murder may have been work-related or due to personal grudges. However, they are still unable to identify a suspect nor any possible conspirators to the murder.

Last Monday, Salvador was heading to his workplace at Araneta-San Sebastian Streets in Bacolod City when he was shot by a motorcycle-riding gunman.

Salvador was killed on the spot after sustaining two gunshot wounds to the neck and head.

The victim was reported to be working as a credit inspector for an appliance store company and part-time Zumba dance instructor.

Salvador was the cousin of notorious drug lord Ramy Poja, who was killed last month when the BCPO and agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency stormed his residence at Purok Sibucao, Barangay Banago./DGB, WDJ
