Local DAR hopes to distribute 6K hectares this year

Mabunay: 895 ha distributed as of May 31

 

The Negros Occidental-1 division of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently revealed their distribution goal this year is 6,000 hectares throughout the northern portion of Negros Occidental, which includes land between Don Salvador Benedicto and San Carlos City

According to DAR-Negros Occidental-1 Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Teresita Mabunay, as of May 31, the agency has distributed 895 hectares.

She noted, there is still 54,000 hectares of land yet to be distributed, intended for Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) beneficiaries.

“CARP should continue to enable us to finish the land balance of 54,000 hectares,” the DAR official stressed./WDJ
