Construction worker electrocuted in Cadiz City

A construction worker was injured after being electrocuted and fell from a building Wednesday afternoon in Barangay Zone 3, Cadiz City.

Police identified the victim as 32-year-old Erol Gonzales, a resident of the said barangay.

Based on information provided by witnesses to Cadiz City police, around 2:40 p.m., Gonzales was holding on to a steel bar while working on the second floor building when he accidentally touched the main line of the North Negros Electric Cooperative causing the electrocution.

Gonzales then lost consciousness and fell.

The victim’s colleagues rushed him to the city’s hospital for treatment after sustaining several burns and head injuries.

The building’s owner, meanwhile, has vowed to pay for Gonzales’ medical expenses./DGB, WDJ
