Bacolod City General Services Office head Jerome Solinap confirmed the construction of new tombs at the Burgos Public Cemetery has been stopped.

In a radio interview yesterday morning, Solinap said he had been recommending the complete closure of the cemetery, but they are still waiting on a decision.

He noted, the only burials presently taking place at the cemetery are for the families who have kin already buried there.

Solinap added, all other burials are being conducted at the Handumanan Public Cemetery.

The closure of the Burgos Public Cemetery began during last year’s All Souls’ Day observance after several visitors experienced difficulty locating the tombs of their loved ones./DGB, WDJ
