The Negros Occidental National Food Authority (NFA) provincial head recently confirmed a delay in the delivery of rice from Thailand to the province.
In a radio interview, NFA-Negros Occidental head, Engr. Frisco Canoy, said, based on a notice from the national office, the rice supply was scheduled to arrive on Friday, June 15. However, due to bad weather conditions, the delivery date was reset to the end of the month.
Canoy added, Iloilo was the first to receive the new supply of imported rice, although the originally scheduled May 31 delivery was also reset to a later date./DGB, WDJ
