Red House Taiwan Shabu Shabu/The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) captured the Negros Basketball Association President’s Cup last Sunday, defeating Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias (CSAV), 86-76, in Game 3 at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School gym.

Landry Zanjo led UNO-R with 29 points, scoring 10 in both the second and third periods. Patrick Yulo also scored, contributing 11 points as Japhet Claridad added 10.

“[Zanjo] is playing well,” said UNO-R coach Gerome Aledron. “We just have to play better defense.”

“We’re grateful to win,” he added.

For CSAV, who were without Jerich Adorio, who was suspended and Joseph Yoro, who came down with the flu, coach Elvis Atinado said the lineup adjustment made an impact on the game.

“We really felt the absence of Adorio and Yoro in the rotation,” he said.

Meanwhile, comprising the “Mythical Five” were John Nermal of ESJ Fyre Fyter, Erwilson Santos of Supreme ABF-Silver Graces Construction, Jeffrey Manday of CSAV, and Zanjo and Claridad of UNO-R.

In addition, Claridad was named MVP./JSG, WDJ
