CSAV force Game 3

By Jerome S. Galunan, Jr.

Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias (CSAV) leveled the Negros Basketball Association President’s Cup finals series over the weekend, defeating Red House Taiwan Shabu Shabu/The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R), 88-71, in Game 2 at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School gym, forcing a Game 3.

UNO-R opened the game ahead 24-19 in the first period, which was later reduced to 41-37 at the half.

With Jeffrey Manday scoring 12 points in the third quarter, contributing to CSAV taking a 60-51 lead, a second unsportsmanlike foul saw teammate Jerich Adorio ejected from the game, which will result in a one-game suspension and a penalty.

The ejection, however, did not stop CSAV’s momentum as they scored a total 28 points in the fourth period to UNO-R’s 12.

Manday led the victory with 33 points, with Junior Essakadualla adding 22 and Billy Rojo scoring 11./JSG, WDJ
