A 13-year-old minor reportedly committed suicide late Wednesday afternoon in Barangay Su-ay, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

Himamaylan City police refused to name the victim.

Based on a statement provided by a witness, whom police have also not named, they entered the victim’s residence and saw the victim inside an open room.

The witness said they tried to talk to the victim, but there was no response.

Upon approaching the victim and finding them hanging inside, the witness ran outside and called for help.

The victim was rushed to the Kabankalan City District Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival by hospital staff.

Police recovered the belt and rope used by the victim in the supposed suicide.

Cops also interviewed the victim’s parents and discovered, prior to the discovery, they had engaged in an argument with the mother.

Police immediately ruled out foul play, while the parents refused a post mortem examination of the remains./DGB, WDJ
