Ceres-Negros FC came from behind to beat Davao Aguilas FC, 2-1, earlier this week in their Philippines Football League (PFL) match at the Panaad Park and Stadium.

The visitors opened scoring in the 14th minute after Davao midfielder James Younghusband got one past Ceres keeper Toni Doblas. Ceres defender Carli de Murga responded in the 28th minute, taking advantage of a deflection off a corner kick.

The two clubs went into halftime drawn 1-1.

In the 78th minute, Ceres striker Patrick Reichelt scored the decisive goal, putting the Negrense side up, 2-1.

“With the tight schedule, it’s very hard, but I think it’s excusable that we can’t always be 100 percent,” Reichelt noted. “[In] the end, it was a well-deserved win.”

For Ceres coach Risto Vidaković, he said of the match, “We showed the crowd good football and the players gave everything.”

“We’re really professionals,” he added.

Ceres next faces Kaya FC-Iloilo tomorrow. Kickoff is at 4:00 p.m. at the Iloilo Sports Complex.

The Bacolod City-based club currently sits atop the PFL table on 28 points, six points in front of second place Kaya./JSG, WDJ
