Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia recently led the inauguration of six new school buildings at Domingo Lacson National High School (DLNHS) and Sum-ag National High School (SNHS).

P97 million funded the construction of two three-story classroom buildings and one four-story classroom building at DLNHS. Each three-story building provides 15 classrooms, while the four-story building contains 20 classrooms, providing a total of 50 new classrooms for the school.

“This is what we need if we want the city to further grow,” the mayor said, calling the inauguration “historic.”

Meanwhile, for SNHS, P66 million went to funding two four-story buildings and one two-story building, which will provide a total of 46 new classrooms.

The new classrooms will be used to accommodate senior high school classes.

In addition, Leonardia also led the distribution of 276 fire extinguishers for 40 public elementary and secondary schools during a recent event at Bacolod City National High School.
