Virginia B. Parrenas of the technical vocational and educational training (TVET) program and an associate professor at the West Visayas State University-Pototan campus was recently named one of 14 career ambassadors by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

According to TESDA Director-General Guiling Mamondiong, ambassadors will promote TVET and serve as role models of the agency.

“Ambassadors, through public talks and media appearances, [will] help steer and encourage the country’s next generation workers towards their most suitable career paths,” he explained.

In 2016, Parrenas was a national finalist for the Tagsanay Award, which recognizes trainers at technical vocational institutions.
