UNO-R takes Game 1

Red House Taiwan Shabu Shabu/The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) took Game 1 of the Negros Basketball Association President’s Cup finals at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang gym last night, defeating Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias (CSAV), 80-74.
UNO-R was ahead by two at the half, leading 37-35. They went on to slightly extend that lead, closing the third period up 60-55.
In the final quarter, the two teams played to a 64-64 draw; however, Landry Zanjo managed to score 12 points for UNO-R in the period, helping to clinch the win.
Zanjo led the victory with a massive 49 points.
Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday, June 9, starting at 5:00 p.m.
