Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region VI (PDEA-6), Silay City Drug Enforcement Unit, and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office special weapons and tactics team operatives seized almost P1 million worth of suspected shabu Thursday afternoon during an operation at Sitio Iglesia in Barangay Balaring, Silay City, Negros Occidental.

PDEA agents identified the arrested suspect as Junray Jumata, a resident of the said area; while a second suspect, identified as Mark ‘Makoy’ Velasco, escaped.

In a statement by PDEA-6 yesterday morning, they recovered one big, six medium, and two elongated sachets of suspected shabu following the arrest.

Anti-drug operatives also seized an undisclosed amount of cash, believed to be drug money; along with drug paraphernalia.

Velasco reportedly fled after sensing he was dealing with PDEA agents.

Jumata, meanwhile, is detained at the Silay City Police Station on drug-related charges./DGB, WDJ
