Speaking before the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) All-Star game, which took place at the University of San Agustin gym last weekend, Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III said the city is considering the construction of a stadium with a capacity to seat 7,000 spectators.
“We have already identified the place and our plans are now being processed,” he affirmed.
The mayor said he informed the city engineer to ensure the facility had 7,000 seats, with hopes for the city to host more PBA games in the future.
“Sports development is one major aspect of our governance,” Espinosa added.
The mayor, meanwhile, thanked the PBA for bringing the event to Iloilo City.
Also present at the game were Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go and PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial./WDJ
