According to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the second phase of the Bacolod Economic Highway project is scheduled to commence in the second quarter of this year.
The second quarter officially began on April 1 and is set to end on June 30.
Based on a radio report yesterday, the second phase stretches six kilometers across portions of Barangays Mansilingan, Vista Alegre, and Granada, at a total cost of P400 million.
Construction on the economic highway began last year and was implemented as a multi-year project under the ‘Build, Build, Build’ program of the President Rodrigo Duterte administration.
With construction expected to be completed by 2021, the new road would provide an alternate route for motorists and will relieve traffic flow along the Bacolod North and Circumferential Roads./DGB, WDJ
