A sari-sari store owner was found dead in her place of business yesterday morning in Barangay Semirara, Caluya, Antique.

Authorities identified the fatality as 47-year-old Caridad Gulla, whose body was discovered by her family around 8:00 a.m.

“When they entered, they saw the victim with stab wounds,” said Caluya Municipal Police Station chief, Police Chief Inspector Francisco Paguia.

She was found with multiple stab wounds across her body and head.

The police chief said they have yet to determine a motive behind the crime, but are considering it may have been a robbery where the victim knew the suspects or the incident was based on a personal grudge.

“We are still waiting for the results of the investigation,” Paguia explained. “As of now, we are coordinating with the family of the victim to get information about this matter.”/WDJ
