A British national was arrested by Police Station 8 (PS8) personnel after allegedly getting involved in a drunken confrontation yesterday morning at the Goldenfields Commercial Complex in Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City.

Police identified the suspect as 31-year-old Stephen Martin Wadel, a resident of Eroreco in Barangay Mandalagan of the said city.

According to PS8 commander, Police Chief Inspector Ruel Culanag, police were summoned to the area after Wadel was reportedly causing a raucous.

Responding officers tried to calm down the foreign national, but Wadel allegedly started kicking and cussing at Senior Police Officer 1 (SPO1) Rolito Vandez, prompting police to proceed with the arrest.

Culanag said Wadel faces multiple charges involving alarm and scandal, resisting arrest, and disobedience to persons of authority.

He added, prior to the incident, Wadel also allegedly sexually assaulted and took the underwear of a bar girl, whom police have not identified.

The victim has also expressed intentions to file criminal charges./DGB, WDJ
