Three suspected drug personalities were arrested in separate buy-bust operations over the weekend in Bacolod City.
The arrested individuals were identified as 23-year-old Miguel Magbanua and 28-year-old Maricres Montaño, both residents of Purok Sigay in the city’s Barangay 2; along with Niko Inez, a resident of Barangay Sum-ag.
The first operation was carried out on Saturday by Police Station 2 (PS2) operatives.
PS2 commander, Police Chief Inspector Benedicto Villarias, Magbanua was being monitored after the station received numerous intelligence reports claiming he was selling shabu in the area.
Villarias said they immediately moved in after Magbanua handed over a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover police operative.
Police also arrested Montaño as she was allegedly with the suspect when the deal was made.
A search further yielded four big sachets of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P20,000; the P1,000 buy-bust money; and P300 worth of suspected drug proceeds.
Both suspects are detained at PS2.
Meanwhile, Police Station 9 (PS9) anti-drug operatives arrested Inez early Sunday morning after he was caught in the act of selling illegal drugs to a poseur buyer.
Police recovered two sachets of suspected shabu from the suspect.
Inez is detained at PS9 and faces charges in violation of Section 5 of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./DGB, WDJ
