With the remains of 34-year-old Angelo Camen Claveria of Cabatuan, Iloilo, an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) whose body was found last month in a septic tank in Hwaseong City, South Korea, back home yesterday, May 27, various government agencies have since provided around P305,000 in financial assistance.
Overseas Workers Welfare Administration-Region VI Director IV Albert Valenciano affirmed the government agency provided the family with a P200,000 death benefit, P20,000 in burial assistance, and a P15,000 livelihood fund.
In addition, Department of Labor and Employment-Iloilo head Joselito Dela Banda said, “Chicken production ang request sang mother, makahatag kita P20,000 (His mother wants to go into chicken production, she was given P20,000).
Meanwhile, the Department of Foreign Affairs provided P50,000 in financial assistance.
Claveria is scheduled to be buried on Friday, June 1, at the Cabatuan Public Cemetery./WDJ
