Gelvolea: God appointed him leader
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga
Acting Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator, Dr. Lucille Gelvolea, yesterday assured the public Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. is in “good health.”
“He may have felt really tired last weekend, especially with the hot weather,” she said, but noted, “[He] has fully recovered.”
“There is no need for Negrenses to worry about the condition of the governor,” Gelvolea affirmed. “God has appointed him to be the leader.”
“He is in good hands,” she added.
The provincial official made the statement in response to chatter claiming the governor was admitted to the hospital.
Gelvolea did admit Marañon was hospitalized.
“He was hospitalized so he can have rest,” she explained.
Meanwhile, she said work at the Provincial Capitol was not affected by the governor’s absence, but noted, personal courtesy calls are not allowed for the time being./DGB, WDJ
