Defensor reiterates ‘real hospitals for the poor’ promise

Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. reiterated his “real hospitals for the poor” promise during the recent inauguration of the Ramon D. Duremdes District Hospital administrative building in Dumangas, Iloilo.
“I don’t mind if our hospitals [do] not earn as long as [they] serve the poor,” he said.
The governor said he wants Iloilo’s 12 provincial hospitals to always provide immediate attention to poor patients.
Defensor recalled a vow made in 2010, saying he wants all provincial hospitals to be considered “real hospitals for the poor.”
