Negros Occidental Assistant Provincial Legal Officer, Atty. Mary Ann Lamis, yesterday assured there would be no cover-up in the investigation of the Negros First Animal Hub at Panaad Park and Stadium.
The comment was made in response to chatter on social media pointing out a “silence” on the matter.
“The investigation committee has already met and we have laid down a plan of action,” she explained. “We also set ourselves a deadline when to finish the investigation and [compiled] a list of persons to call and interview.”
Lamis said she will also be providing an update for Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr.
She added, “We cannot jump into conclusions.”
“If we announce now it will be premature,” the provincial official added. “We do not want the people we call for interviews to be influenced.”
She added, “I cannot disclose the persons’ identities yet.”
However, Lamis did reveal one person they will call is Eva Resoor, who earlier admitted to supplying materials for the construction project and claimed she were previously designated by Special Project and Concerns Department head Ian de Ramos, who passed away this year.
Earlier, she said the ongoing construction, while not formally allowed by the provincial government, is being done to “show her skills at beautifying the building.”
The Negros First Animal Hub garnered attention after a complaint was filed with the provincial Bids and Awards Committee, the Office of the Ombudsman, and the Commission on Audit, claiming the project did not undergo a bidding process and lacked proper documentation. DGB, WDJ
