A “modern calligraphy” workshop is set to be held in Bacolod City and it’s calling for participants—practicing artists, visual designers, and aspiring letterers.

Entitled “Modern Calligraphy Workshop,” it will be held on June 2, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Common Ground Café & Bar at 19th Lacson Street.

For P1,800, participants may enjoy a 4-hour hands on session inclusive of art materials, a specially curated workbook, and snacks.

It will be conducted by a homegrown talent Kate Quebrar, who was formerly an Art Director from advertising firm McCann Worldgroup Philippines—the agency behind the viral #KwentongJollibee Valentine ’s Day ads in 2017.

Quebrar has been commissioned by several private organizations for her talent in calligraphy since 2016. Her growing portfolio range from small scale canvases (postcards, wedding invitations, and dedication letters), to large scale formats such as wall arts and murals across some of the busiest urban open spaces in Bacolod and Metro Manila.

Her most popular artwork can be viewed in Bonifacio Global City inked on a striking 20×45 feet wall along Bonifacio High Street—a mural saying “May you find comfort here” which has become a favorite photo spot of the neighboring community and random Instagrammers.

Quebrar is also behind Hometown Bacolod’s mural “I left my heart in Bacolod.”
