Following the recent groundbreaking for Vista Alegre Homes, a project expected to house 1,000 active military and police personnel, along with their families, in Talisay City’s Barangay Dos Hermanas, Mayor Neil Lizares called the project recognition for the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP).

“The PNP-AFP housing project is a generous gesture in recognition of the hard work, dedication, and sacrifices [made] by the men and women in law enforcement,” he said. “We are thankful for [the National Housing Authority (NHA)] choosing the city of Talisay as the site of this noble project.”

According to NHA General Manager Marcelino Escalada, Jr., aside from AFP and PNP personnel, 10 percent of the project will be reserved for members of the Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Corrections, and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.

President Rodrigo Duterte led the groundbreaking earlier this week, where he assured police and army forces his administration would continue to look after their welfare./WDJ
