After losing their last two matches, falling to Myanmar’s Yangon United FC in the ongoing AFC Cup and Kaya FC-Iloilo in the Philippines Football League (PFL), Ceres-Negros FC will be looking to end their slump against Davao Aguilas FC tonight at the Panaad Park and Stadium, with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m.

In their last match, the Aguilas lost to Kaya, 4-2.

Ceres is currently second on the PFL table, just above Davao and below the Iloilo City-based club.

Meanwhile, following controversial remarks by Ceres defender Martin Steuble who, following their second leg loss in the AFC Cup ASEAN Zonal semifinal, said the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) and PFL “did not support us at all,” calling the league “a big question mark,” the club issued an apology.

“The club is grateful to the PFF and the PFL for setting up a structure that allows Filipino clubs to represent the country in continental competitions like the AFC Cup and the AFC Champions League,” the football club stated. “If not for the PFF and PFL, Ceres-Negros FC would not have reached its goal of making the country proud by winning the AFC Cup ASEAN Zonal title last year.”

They also noted Steuble’s statements do not reflect the opinion of the club./JSG, WDJ
