The Department of Education (DepEd) is reminding school heads as well as parents of the “No collection policy” during the enrollment period.
Dr. Gaudencio Riego, officer in charge of the DepEd Division of Antique, said that they have already received reports that some schools, which he did not disclose, are collecting fees.
“Collection of fees is a violation of a DepEd Order,” he said.
DepEd Order No. 41, series of 2012 has been issued to make sure that no learner would be hindered from enrolling in public schools because of the unnecessary fees being collected.
Dr. Riego said that school heads or teachers who would be caught could face administrative case.
This coming school opening, the DepEd Division of Antique expects 9,888 kindergartener while the Grade I pupils would be 12,374 in the 480 public elementary schools.
In the 54 secondary schools, there would be 11,065 Grade 7 and 7,006 Grade 11 pupils enrolled for this school year.
“With the last two weeks to go, we are encouraging parents to already enroll their children, “Dr. Riego said.
He said that children admitted to Kinder are those who would be five years old by August 31.
He added that public schools had already their early enrollment for elementary and secondary levels whole month of May. (PNA)
