Responding to reports Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS) basketball player Harold Alarcon was headed to National University (NU), BTTHS basketball coach Dexter Dy refuted the claims, saying the player has not been cleared by the high school.
“He has yet completed his academic requirements with the school,” the coach explained. “His records can’t be [released].”
“We [consider] his actions [to be] disrespectful to the [BTTHS] Board of Trustees, who allowed him to take part in the Elite 60 Development Camp,” Dy added.
The coach also pointed out, they were never informed by Alarcon about his intentions to transfer schools.
“We only knew it when we saw him [playing] in an NU jersey,” he noted. “He should have approached us [to] discuss this issue.”
Dy said, “He’s not answering our calls and text messages.”
Meanwhile, BTTHS team manager Roger Montalbo said Alarcon is currently considered “absent without leave.”/WDJ
