After the vote for barangay captain in Dauin’s Barangay Baslay resulted in a draw, re-electionist Barangay Captain Emerenciana Bantoto recently won via random draw.

A special meeting was held last week at the Dauin Municipal Hall, where Bantoto and her challenger, Ruel Perez, drew pieces of paper to determine the winner. After two rounds, the incumbent drew a piece of paper that read “Congratulations.”

Following her win, the re-elected official said she hopes to continue a good relationship with Perez.

After the initial vote count, each official earned 203 votes./WDJ
