The 4th JGM Invitational Volleyball Tournament opened yesterday at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS) covered court, where University of the Philippines (UP) women’s volleyball team head coach Godfrey Owese Okumu spoke during opening rites, advising players to be disciplined and polite.
“Work hard and don’t complain during training,” he said, adding they will not earn good results without hard work.
The coach noted, players should not be arrogant.
Okumu said the Philippines has a lot of potential to be a continental powerhouse in the sport.
“The Philippines produces taller players,” he observed. “Filipinos has longer reach and long legs.”
