After the Iloilo City government earlier announced they would be providing scholarships for 200 qualified incoming college freshman for the upcoming 2018-2019 academic year, with recipients receiving P1,000 per month, or P5,000 per term, screenings for the financial assistance are currently ongoing and are expected to continue until May 25.

Interested applicants should submit their application form, which can be found at the Local Youth Development Division, located on the sixth floor of City Hall, along with two passport-size color pictures; a certificate of residency issued by their barangay captain for both the applicant and their parents or legal guardian; a certificate from the City Commission on Elections (Comelec) affirming the applicant’s parents or legal guardian are registered voters of Iloilo City; and a certificate of good moral character and Form 138.
In term of household income, if either their parents or legal guardian have a business or are self-employed, they can submit an income tax form; if they are employed, they can submit BIR Form 2316; or if they are non-formal employees, they can submit a tax exemption certificate.
