Another Commission on Elections (Comelec) gun ban violator was nabbed by Police Station 1 (PS1) personnel yesterday morning at Purok Kingfisher in Barangay 16, Bacolod City.
Police identified the suspect as 23-year-old Michael Yap, a resident of the said area.
Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) spokesperson, Police Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas, said Yap was caught carrying an 11-inch kitchen knife, prompting police, led by PS1 commander Police Senior Inspector Leo Estopa, to make the arrest.
Vargas said Yap is the 13th gun ban violator in the city and reminded the public that carrying firearms and deadly weapons outside of one’s residence is prohibited.
She added, the ban is in effect until May 21.
