The Philippine Army 303rd Infantry Brigade (303 IB) recently led a forum called “Advocacy on Marawi Experience and Countering Violent Extremism,” which discussed the Marawi City experience.
“Ang adbokasiya nating ito ay para malaman na ‘yung problema ng terorismo ay hind lang sa Mindanao kundi problema ng lahat (Our advocacy tells that the problem of terrorism is not only affecting in Mindanao, but affecting all of us as well),” said Philippine Army Commanding General, Lt. General Rolando Joselito Bautista. “Terrorism is everybody’s concern.”
He also discussed topics including defense mechanisms, critical rescue operations, Martial Law, and rehabilitation.
Bautista noted, some 165 soldiers have been ki
lled, 1,767 troops have been wounded, and about 2,000 civilians have been held captive./
